Browser HTTP default...in the future

So all browsers will kindly put http:// in the url line if you do not. When http is either replaced or augmented with other protocols will it affect the users?

1) No, most just surf via a search engine
2) for the url user, a dropdown pick list will be available
3) who cares, cross that bridge when we get there
